Thanksgiving and a Movie
We started the morning off by driving down to see DH's mom. It has been four years since we last saw her as well. It was kind of funny they just sat opposite of each other and stared for about fifteen minutes. Meanwhile K's grandpa kept talking way over his head about girls and relationships. I am not sure K knows what to make of all of it. But it was a good visit. K's grandparents got to see how much he has grown and we got to give and receive lots of hugs. We had wanted to stop and visist DH's brothers and sisters, but there was just not enough time. We hurried back to SLC, made a quick stop at a huge Wal-mart to pick up what we were supposed to bring, and then off to K and A's home for dinner. The dinner was excellent, we all brought something and A cooked the turkey. I have to agree with everyone else, A is a really good cook. We just sat around and visited the rest of the afternoon. Then about 15 of us went to see the new movie Tangled. It was so much fun. I wish we could have stayed longer.
So the next morning bright and early K and I headed back to airport. We flew back to Minneapolis and then had the drive back home. I had not had more than a few hours sleep each night so I was really tired. About an hour left to go of the drive, K told me he was going to go to sleep. I asked him who would help keep me awake, so he decided he would try. Oh to be a fly on the wall of our vehicle. We were screaming as loud as we could, making up stupid songs, rolling the windows up and down, bouncing in our seats. I am sure passers-by must have thought we were the stupidest people they had ever seen! But it worked and we made it home safely, if not a little hoarse.
